Buying Sega Dreamcast secondhand
- The internal clock battery is rechargeable and usually dead — the console nags for the date at every boot but otherwise plays fine.
- VMU screens fail and their button cells drain fast; a working VMU is worth checking for separately.
- GD-ROM lasers are not being manufactured, which makes a strong drive the single most valuable thing about a used console.
