Sega Genesis games & collectibles
Three console revisions, two add-ons, and a great many regional variations. Which model a console actually is gets identified here, because the audio differs audibly between them.

Buying Sega Genesis secondhand
- Model 1 consoles have a noticeably warmer sound and a headphone jack; the Model 2 is thinner and cheaper-sounding.
- Sega CD and 32X each need specific model pairings and their own power supplies — stacking them is not plug-and-play.
- Cart shells vary by region and era; a Japanese Mega Drive cart will not fit a US Genesis without an adapter.
Choose your copy
Start with the photos and description of the exact piece. Loose copies suit a playing collection; if you collect boxes and manuals too, check the listed contents before buying. Edition names alone don’t tell you what is included.
For Sega Genesis games, compare the platform and region printed on the case or cartridge with your system. Treat download codes and bonus content as unavailable unless the listing says otherwise.
